To use Raixer Pro you'll need:

  • A light point less than 1.5m from Raixer Pro. If your socket is further away, you can take one from the register box, or power it directly using pins 6 and 7 of Raixer Pro.

  • If you want to open the gate, an intercom or video door entry system that has a physical opening button.

  • If you want to open the door of the house, an electric latch or door opener.

  • If you want to close the door of the dwelling, an electric piston or bolt (optional).

Compatible intercoms. Raixer Pro.

Can I use Raixer Pro with a door that only has one button to open it?

Yes. One of the internal components of Raixer Pro is a wireless relay. So you can bridge the button so that the circuit closure is done both by pressing the button and in Raixer Pro.

Which front doors are compatible with Raixer Pro?

Raixer Pro uses the intercom inside the dwelling to open the front door. So if your front door can be opened with a compatible intercom, you can open it using Raixer Pro.

The intercom I currently have is broken and does not open, will Raixer Pro work in this case?

No. Keep in mind that Raixer Pro uses the opening button of your intercom to open the portal. If the intercom doesn't work, you won't be able to open the portal with Raixer Pro.

My intercom opens more than one community door, what device do I need to buy?

If your intercom is able to open two doors with the same button, Raixer Pro is able to detect which door to open first using a single sensor terminal. With which you can use the other two sensors to connect them to the electric latch or door opener of the home door; to the piston or connect another type of standard sensors (motion, closed/open)

If your intercom has two buttons, one to open each door, then you will use two terminals to the Raixer Pro sensor, so that only one output will be available for the electric lock and/or piston.

I have two community doors, is Raixer Pro compatible in this case?

Take a look at your intercom. If you can open both doors with the same intercom button, then you will only need one sensor output from Raixer Pro. If the intercom has two buttons - one to open each community door - then you will need two sensor outputs.

Compatible building doors. Raixer Pro.

What is an electric lock?

The electric latch or door opener is a standard locksmithing part. The part is installed in the door frame of the dwelling; in the metal plate that is usually at the height of the door handle.

The Raixer Pro kit does not include this electric latch. Why? Because depending on the distance between the bolts and the latch, your door will need a different size.

Installers or a trusted locksmith can provide you with this part and install it on your home's door.

What is an electric piston or bolt?

The piston or bolt is a magnetic lock controlled through Raixer Pro. Using this part you will be able to lock the door. You will have a similar level of security to closing the door with a double turn of the key.

The pistons can withstand more than 1,000kg of force. It will depend on the model you acquire. The most common for residential doors are fail secure pistons.

See differences between pistons fail safe and fail secure.

What pistons are compatible with Raixer Pro?

Raixer Pro is compatible with any 12V DC piston. Depending on where you are going to install it, you will need it to be fail safe or fail secure:

If you are going to use it on the home door, use fail safe pistons.

If you're going to use it on a building entrance door, use fail secure pistons.

Fail-safe and fail-secure pistons

If you've made it this far, you're probably wondering about the differences between fail safe and fail secure pistons.

  • Fail safe piston: the piston unlocks when it does not have electrical power.

  • Fail secure piston: the piston unlocks when it has electrical current.

Below you can see a video about the differences between fail-safe and fail-secure locks:

Fail-safe locks or pistons

Fail safe pistons are unlocked when they have no electrical power. To close or lock them, they must be connected to a power source. If they are disconnected from the power source, the door will automatically unlock and allow people to enter or exit the space. That's why they are safe or secure – they're safe for people; not for the space!

Most fail-safe locks are used on the main entrance doors of offices or distributors. A very typical application of fail-safe locks are magnetic locks, which by design require connection to the light to function.

Fail-secure locks or pistons

The fail secure pistons are locked by default. If they are not connected to a power source, the piston will remain closed. To open or unlock them, they need to be connected to the power.

Usually, fail-secure pistons are used in sensitive areas, for example, the IT room or the front door. However, as the door remains closed during emergencies, you will normally need to add a mechanism to allow it to open. You can use the Raixer Pro button to unlock the piston and open the door.

Fail secure pistons are also often used on exterior staircase doors. Since in the event of a fire, these doors must remain closed to block the fire.

Fail-safe locks and exit safety in emergency situations

Many people believe that fail-safe locks are designed to allow faster exits in emergency situations. This is called evacuation, and evacuation must be guaranteed, regardless of the lock you use.

This means that with a fail-safe or fail-secure lock you will always be able to exit through the door - whether it's an emergency or not. The terminology of fail-safe or fail-secure refers to the entrance - also in case of emergency.

If all doors were inaccessible during a fire, firefighters or medical personnel would have difficulty accessing the space.

Using a battery in fail-safe locks

It is relatively common to install backup batteries to prevent fail-safe locks from unlocking during a power outage. The truth is that doing so makes little sense. Fail-safe locks with battery would behave in an equivalent way to fail-secure locks.

The main reason for using batteries with fail-safe locks is with glass doors. Since magnetic locks (by definition, all are fail-safe) look aesthetically pleasing. Therefore, the customer needs a fail-secure magnetic lock - that's why they install the battery.

Electric door openers are not always fail-secure

Electric door openers or latches can be configured as fail-safe or fail-secure. Depending on the position and polarity of the solenoids (magnets) inside the door opener, they can act as fail-safe or fail-secure.

Security. Raixer Pro.

Do I cancel the lock with a key if I install the electric latch and/or the piston?

No. The cylinder will remain intact after installing the electric latch and/or piston. However, note that if you double-turn, you won't be able to open the door using Raixer Pro.

Is Raixer Pro smart lock secure?

Raixer Pro uses the Raixer platform, in which we employ the most secure encryption methodss when transmitting data. To prevent cyberattacks, all communications between the app and the backend are encrypted using SSL 3 certificates.

Once you have created your user in the app, your password is encrypted in the backend and always transmitted via SSL (HTTPS). The application passwords are encoded (hash) with 2 different encoding algorithms. In addition, communications between the hardware and the backend are encrypted using SHA-256. Each device uses 256-bit keys to encrypt and decrypt communications.

Can I open the apartment door with Raixer Mini?

Yes. Once you have connected Raixer Pro to the electric latch, you can open the door using the device.

These are the available opening methods for the house door:

  • Missed call: We associate you with a phone number for the house door. From the app, you can authorize phone numbers to open by making missed calls.

  • App: Authorize other Raixer users to open by pressing the Open House button in the app.

Can I close the house door with Raixer Pro?

Yes. If you choose to install Raixer Pro with door opener and piston, you will be able to lock the house door through the piston.

Can I stop using physical keys with Raixer Pro?

Yes. Although Raixer Pro does not replace your set of physical keys, if you choose to install it with an electric door opener and piston, you can stop using them and open using the Raixer app.

If you want to use your keys again with this installation, just disable the piston from the app.

Can I double-turn the key on the house door and open it with Raixer Pro?

No. If you double-turn, Raixer Pro will activate the electric latch to push the latch and unlock the electric piston, but your door will be blocked by the bolts. Therefore, even if you push, it won't open.

Note that if you choose to install with an electric piston or bolt, the level of security is similar to double-turning, so it's not necessary to do so.

Can I use sensors with Raixer Pro?

Yes. You can connect up to two sensors:

  • A motion sensor, which closes or opens a circuit to detect movement.

  • An open or closed sensor, which closes or opens a circuit when opening or closing the door.

Can I use an emergency battery with Raixer Pro?

Yes. Raixer Pro includes a housing designed to connect standard 18650 batteries.

The battery is designed so that in cases where the electrical supply is temporarily cut off, the piston and door opener continue to function.

Product. Raixer Pro.

How can I open the doors connected to Raixer Pro?

You have three ways to open the door with your Raixer Pro:

  • Auto Access: Configure a time slot in which Raixer Mini will open the door it's connected to after the doorbell is rung. Users don't need an app, internet, or phone. It's the most convenient option for the front door.

  • Opening with a missed call: Authorize your users' phone numbers and let them open with a missed call. They don't need an app or internet on their phone. It's the best option for opening the portal and home.

  • Opening with app: Allows other Raixer users to open the door with the app. It's the best option for permanent access (maintenance or cleaning staff) or long-term users (fixed tenants or family). You can also use the app to open the doors when your users arrive.

Incidents. Raixer Pro.

What do I do if I can't hear the doorbell when they call after installing Raixer Pro?

Have you put the intercom cover back on? In most models, the intercom speaker is part of the cover. Don't worry, it happens a lot! Also, make sure that none of the cables that were there before the installation of Raixer Pro have been lost.

What happens if I lose power in the apartment?

If you have fitted a 18650 battery to Raixer Pro, the device will use this battery to remain operational until it runs out.

If you haven't installed the battery or it has run out, Raixer Pro will stop working and unlock the electric piston (if you have installed it). You will be able to open using physical keys.

Does Raixer Pro detect if they ring the doorbell?

No. The device does not detect the call that occurs at the doorbell of the house. Instead, you can open it with a missed call or with the app.

Does Raixer Pro detect if someone rings the doorbell from the intercom?

Yes. Raixer Pro detects the voltage variation that occurs in the intercom when the doorbell is rung from the street door.

With my intercom, I have to ring the doorbell before I can open the portal with Raixer Mini. Will it work?

It is an expected behavior of some intercoms and door entry systems. On some occasions, these intercoms have this security system (they don't open - neither with Raixer Pro nor by pressing the button -) unless they call before.

For these situations, the Auto Access mode works great (the user calls and the gate opens unattended).

My Raixer Pro device appears offline, what could be happening?

It's a very common issue and is usually related to WiFi or power. In these cases, you can:

  • Check the date and time

  • Check that there is WiFi and power in the home. Also, that the device is connected to the power.

Will users have to call my phone number to open?

No. Users don't have to call your phone number to open. These are phone numbers that are included in the Raixer subscriptions.

Can my users open by making a WhatsApp call?

No. The phone numbers associated with the doors do not have associated WhatsApp accounts, so they will not be able to open by making WhatsApp calls.

In these cases, your users can notify you via WhatsApp so that you can open the door for them using the Open buttons in the app.

Can my users open by making a WiFi Calling call?

Yes. Some international operators allow WiFi Calling. It's a phone call made over WiFi. In practice, it's equivalent to a normal call, so they can open using it.

Why does it say the number doesn't exist when I call the door number?

It's expected behavior. Don't worry. Since we have to reject the call so that your users aren't charged for the call, some operators have a non-existent number announcement. Therefore, even if the operator says that the number does not exist, the door will open if the calling number is authorized.

Can I know what phone number has opened the door and when?

Yes. All accesses, including those made by missed call, are recorded in the History tab.

Can I use the same phone number for some or all of my doors?

Yes. When you get a phone number for the door, the app asks you if you want to do it. Select the existing phone number, and press Save.

Will users be charged anything when they make the call?

No. Your users will only have to make a missed call. The call is rejected and has no cost for your users.

Do users need to have mobile data?

No. They don't need an internet connection to open with a missed call.

My users have foreign mobile phones, will it work too?

Yes. As long as your users can make a normal phone call, they will be able to open the door correctly using this method.

If I have deauthorized a number, will that user be able to open again by making a missed call?

No. From the moment you delete a phone number, it is no longer authorized and will not be able to open again by making a missed call.

Can I know which user has opened the door and when?

Yes. All access, including app users, are recorded in the History tab.

What types of users are there in the app?

Raixer's app has three types of user roles. For each device, you can be a type of user, and depending on which one you are, you'll have different permissions :

  • Administrator: are the administrators. They have permissions to open the door; manage opening with a missed call; connect or schedule Auto Raixer Pro; add new users or administrators or deactivate users; check the history; configure the doors, change the device name; or update WiFi.

  • Owner: is the owner of the device. It has the same permissions as the Administrator profile. In addition, it is the only one that can pay for the device subscription. You can also transfer ownership of the device to stop being the owner.

  • Users: are users with fewer permissions. This type of user can only open the door from the app.

  • Installer: You will be the owner of the device until you transfer it during the initial setup process. This profile is only available for some distributors.
